JUSTIFIED
TO LEAVE
As
Christians, when our spouse cheats on us, what is the first thing we
think? Is it, “Well, I’m morally
justified to leave him/her?” Maybe we
are morally justified, but is that how God wants us to react?
I
believe God is looking down on us, and when He sees a repentant person, He
wants the other spouse to offer love and forgiveness. Isn’t that what being a Christian is all
about? How many times has God offered me
forgiveness? We are going to be hurt in
this world, and we are going to hurt others.
Forgiveness is such a necessary part of life.
I
believe when God sees two broken people (that’s what we ALL are) in a marriage,
and He sees they are truly wanting a broken marriage to work, He has a huge
smile on His face. And to us, as His
children, we should be so proud to make our daddy happy and please Him! As a firstborn child, I was very much a
people pleaser, especially to my parents.
I remember all the times I made my earthly daddy proud. It uplifted me and put a smile on my face all
day! It made me feel so good!
I
also believe God rewards the couples who do this. It may not be great monetary rewards, but in
the reward of a renewed marriage. My
marriage is proof of his. I am more in
love with my husband today than I was the day we got married! We have a tenderness for each other now. We are transparent with each other. We see each other’s flaws, yet love each
other in spite of these. We don’t have
lots of money or things, but we have each other. We plan on growing old together. We are doing life together. I couldn’t imagine doing life with anyone
else.
God
believes in marriages, and He is in the restoring business! I have witnessed this firsthand. He loves His children. Christian couples, make your marriage
work. Stick it out! You will be so glad you did in the long run!
